Each month, Pray Gold Country highlights one congregation within the Gold Country Section of the Assemblies of God for special, intentional prayer. Our goal is to strengthen the spiritual life of every church through united intercession, encouragement, and connection. The Apostle Paul modeled this in his letters to the early churches; regularly praying for them by name, giving thanks for their faith, and asking God to fill them with His power and wisdom.
Philippians 1:3–6 3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Prayer for a church is more than asking for success or growth, it is joining Christ in His intercession for His Body. As you lift up each month’s featured congregation, consider these five areas of prayer focus:
Ask God to strengthen their hearts, renew their passion for ministry, and give them fresh vision for their community. Pray for wisdom, unity, and spiritual protection over their families and leadership team.
Ephesians 6:19 – Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.
Pray that believers in the church would grow in love, holiness, and faithfulness to Christ. Ask that the Holy Spirit would deepen their worship, discipleship, and relationships with one another.
Colossians 2:6–7 – So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith.
Pray that the church will be effective in reaching its community with the gospel. Ask the Lord to open doors for outreach, provide resources, and draw people to salvation through the witness of this local body.
Matthew 9:38 – Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
Lift up the financial, facility, and staffing needs of the church. Pray for God’s provision in every area—so that no practical concern hinders ministry.
Philippians 4:19 – And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Ask the Lord to pour out His Spirit in fresh ways, renewing passion for prayer, compassion for the lost, and devotion to God’s Word.
Psalm 85:6 – Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
Each month, one Gold Country Section church will be featured here and in our prayer communications. You can click the church’s link at the top of this page to learn more about its ministry and current prayer requests. We invite every minister, church, and prayer partner in the Section to take time each week to pray for that church. At the end of the month, we will share brief praise reports or answered prayers as God moves through His people.
When we pray for one another, we strengthen the entire Body of Christ. Interceding for a sister church not only blesses that congregation, it builds spiritual unity across the Section and advances the shared mission of Christ in the Gold Country.
Ephesians 4:16 From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
